Dr Ai Fletcher, Departmental Lecturer in Organic Chemistry and EDI Academic Officer
Originally from Tokyo (Japan), I moved to the UK to study PhD in Imperial College London. After that, I have explored a range of organic chemistry as a post-doctoral researcher in University of Regensburg (Germany), University of Bath and in University of Oxford, where I was involved with a number of exciting projects developing synthetic methodologies and their applications to the total synthesis of natural products. Since 2021, I took up my current position in the department. Outside of my work, I enjoy running slowly and growing vegetables in our garden.

Luna (Xinyue Wu), Social Media Team OxWiChem
I am a 1st year DPhil student at St Hilda's College. Born in China, I got my Master's degree from Zhejiang University. My previous research focused on hydrogel microneedle sensors, which had high extraction ability to be applied in plant stress detection. Currently, I am a PhD student under the supervision of Professor Kylie Vincent. I am exploring the use of hydrogenase to support the application of enzymes involved in oxygenation reactions. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, singing, dancing and learning different languages and new things.
