Terri Adams FBSSG, Glass D&F Facility Manager
Working as a scientific glassblower for 38 years, my training was undertaken at the University of Bristol. In the early 90’s I took a leap of faith and moved to a position in Oxford. I also established a home workshop to indulge my artistic glassblowing pursuits. The intersection between art and science is undeniable. Both are about exploring the unknown, discovering, and making something. I enjoy the freedom I am afforded to be both a craftsperson and an engineer. Glass has connected me to the international glass & academic communities, heritage crafts, government, and the people of Oxfordshire.

Alexis Bauer, General Member OxWiChem
Originally from Ohio, USA, I moved to the UK following the shift of my DPhil advisor, Dr. Micheal Neidig, from the University of Rochester. Having started in f-element chemistry, my research has since moved to the area of iron, with low valent organometallic complexes for C-H activation and novel main group heterogeneous bimetallics. When not in the lab, I enjoy spending my time reading, baking, exploring, and watching Major League Baseball. With the move to Oxford, I have been excited to connect with a new branch of the chemistry community and discover what else it has to offer.
