2ND EMPOWERING WOMEN IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY EUROPE CONFERENCE

The EWOC Committee would like to invite women Scientists to present their work at the above conference. The aim is to provide a forum for talented young women chemists to present their work to an international audience. There will be oral presentations from 3 Academic Researchers and 3 Industrial Scientists (15 minutes each plus questions) and a poster presentation session. All successful candidates (oral or poster presentations) will be invited to attend the conference free of charge. Prizes will also be awarded for the best presentation and best poster. Eligibility This award is open to any women chemist either studying towards a PhD in Chemistry at a European University or to Young Academics or Industrialists with 1-5 years in their career (including postdoctoral researchers). Exceptions can be made for those with extenuation circumstances, such as career breaks or non-traditional career paths, please contact the organising committee.

Entries must be made electronically, in confidence to Dr Claire Francis: claire@scientificupdate.com on or before 10th March 2024. Successful applicants will be informed by 10th April 2024.

Background: This annual meeting welcomes women (students, post-docs, faculty, and professionals) and allies who work or plan to work in the field of organic chemistry, broadly defined, from all types of institutions (academic, industry, biotech, non-profit and government). The conference provides a unique opportunity for networking and is committed to improving upon the overall diversity within the organic chemistry community within a supportive environment. We seek to empower all marginalized individuals across all chemistry fields.
